its only to be expected in a 50 year old car I guess, after some poking about I feel the air-con on our 318 70 Polara isn't what it left the factory with, the organ stop selector in the cab operates through one big electrical block (manual shows 3 smaller blocks) the demist manifold has been adjusted and I can't see any connection with the rest of the system. Most annoyingly the pulley setup under the hood is different, no standard belts fit, I've had to measure and get some supplied, should there be an idler pulley? I have a twin belt system looping from the bottom (crank )- alternator- then air con pump. Oddly though it all seems to work, best left as is .If only I could remember what combination of switches does what,

Never mind the Banana Dude. Contact Irv Bisco over here at: Bisco.com And find the literature from him I spoke of. Might be Re-popped or original publications? Either way you need it and I know Irv. We've been doing business with each other for 40 yearz now. He used to call Novelty, Ohio home. I think he'z doing Business in Lima, Ohio now. Good Man either way, Jer

Allan,
Welcome to the site. A lot of the members here are former Chrysler mechanics, and we love these old beast's. As a new member, PLEASE, when you make a post include the. Make, Model, and Year. Two other bits of helpful information are the V.I.N. number, and date of assembly, (Chrysler was famous for mid year parts changes). Last bit of information, (WE ARE ALL PICTURE JUNKIES).
Bill

Welcome! Wondering if the system is a factory system? Which a picture of the a/c compressor would usually indicate. You can download a copy of the FSM at www. mymopar.com. Plus a 70-71 model years parts book. Those might answer a lot of questions.

Good luck and keep us posted,
