Amazing find??

I sure hope not. It'd be a shame to cut it out. The car looks great. Looks to me like a nice entry point into the hobby for the right buyer.

I am tempted to buy it but don't think the wife would like it too much. She likes the looks of the Fury and won't appreciate my buying another car even though I have no car at the moment until I get the Fury running. As plain as that Dart is, it is a clean looking Mopar and I have always heard those slant 6 engines were indestructible.

IF it's that nice, think of it as an investment rather than an expense . . . although the dollars will leave with either orientation.

You have heard correctly! A good bit of high-perf technology in that engine, even if it isn't a V-8! In that car, performance will be on par with a '66-era Chrysler 383 2bbl. Power steering and TorqueFlite, plus some aftermarket "tunes". Only other thing missing is a/c, if that matters where you're at. I'd suspect it's certainly worth the money!

I had a friend in high school who had THREE paper routes. He drove middle '60s Valiants exclusively. Never had an engine issue, but did have some rear axle problems with some of them. He literally drove the wheels off of them, in the wee hours of the morning, hitting both sides of the street in one feld swoop . . . where the Torsion Bar suspension dynamics came in handy.

The want is strong, but there is no challenge in finding parts

Where I'm from you don't find '68 Darts (or anything else) that clean. Somebody could get into the old Mopar hobby without sacrificing the kid's college fund. Nice looking rust free Dart.

As a European I have a soft spot for inline 6es in intermediate or compact Body styles, as this was what you would usually be able to afford at best to go high Performance over here and weight Distribution for our Kind of winding roads was superior as well.

I think Doug Dutra is still in the Business with parts to soup up These engines.

" Can be parted out for the selling price. Fenders, doors, trunk lid, hood, trunk floor, floor pans inner fenders, frame rails all solid and clean."

This part of the ad could be a bit alarming.

Another for me most desirable 6 cyl. option that Comes to mind was the not too popular Sprint Option from Pontiac for Tempest and Firebird around 1966-68 with the advanced SOHC and Timing belt setup.

It’s Better to Beg for Forgiveness than to Ask for Permission:D
