Dang, John, I hope you find something you like that's worth purchasing one of these times. :D

Although, you get to hang onto your money longer this way...........

Found a decent amount of cars that interest me but either they don't measure up to what the owner says or just way overpriced. Don't mind paying fair money for what I am looking for but I sure as hell don't want to overpay (like most others). Of course shipping cost is another factor. I am trying to stay within my budget.
I'm not in it to make money on a car (although that is a nice thing)just want to break even or come close when it is time to sell. One example I will share is a '78 Cordoba for sale in Ohio(dealer of some sort). Found this car on CL back in February before my car was officially for sale. All original with 15,000 miles. Nice car by the looks of it but I am not enamored with the color(Dove Grey). Asking $10,995. Called him up and asked what is your bottom line? He says "we don't have a deal do we"? I said not with your asking price we don't. He says what do you think it is worth? I said without seeing it in person maybe $7000. He says our numbers are off and conversation was over. Lo and behold car shows up on Ebay a month or two later. High bid.....$8001. Deal must have fell through as he has relisted it several times since on CL. Has a new take on the ad(asking $11,000) now stating "liquidating private collection" and "very motivated seller, taking cash offers". So yesterday I offered $6500 cash and surprise, no response. Wasn't expecting one but come friggin' on, you have had the car up for sale for a MINIMUM of 6 months that I know of. So there are two possible scenarios, the car is not as nice as it looks in pics or how about this one....you are asking too much ******* money!!!! This is why I have not been able to spend my money, idiots who think they have gold on wheels. Here is a link as I am sure I will not get it for a price that is reasonable.
1978 Chrysler Cordoba V8 360 C.I. 3-Speed Auto 15K Miles Rust Free is original repeated link. New link has been flagged.

Right off the bat, it's missing the covers on the front fender marker/cornering lights. Other than that it looks pretty darn nice.
Still a little pricey though.

Bottom line the seller still holds the cards,,or thinks he does. I know nothing about the car you are interested in but I would think the question is how bad do you want it? If you pay abit high now for a quality piece ,hopefully in a few years appreciation will offset the high price you paid for it now. I paid abit more than the norm for my 69 Fury but it is a gem and as you said "you are not in it for the money" or something like that. These days anything under 20,000 dollars is peanuts for a classic car. If possible just make yourself happy. Life is too short.

I don't like the car enough to overpay for it. Short of the low mileage(if true)and condition(still need to see it), has nothing really going for it.....no big block,no center console/buckets,no t-tops,no leather, and a color that is about as boring as watching grass grow. Obviously NO ONE wants to pay any where near that price, like I said, it has been for sale for at least 6 months that I know of.
