No, close I hope. We have purchased a homestead here but are still residing in Jersey. Trying to figure out our next step.

 It'll be the top one for sure. However there will be a car trailer on the back of the U Haul truck and another on the rear of my Ram ...The virus held us down a bit
We'll figure it out.
Well , I wish you all the best....Idaho is gorgeous country and being close to family is always important.
My brother moved out to Livinston Mt back in 93...I miss him.
The Polara is coming along slowly. Waiting to get rid of the Fury so i can get it back in my shop. Interior is done, perfect NOS bumpers sub assembled one small patch in the passenger side floor finished.
Just need to spend more time on her. Who would have thought I'd be this busy after retiring.

Have you looked into renting a Pod? I loaded 2 of them when I left Kalifornia and had them stored @ their facility in Sioux Falls, while I looked for my acreage.

I didnt. Was it beneficial price wise?

I'd just assume sell everything but clothes and the cars. The wife however sees it different.

I guess its a explorable option...

I believe that it cost me ~7k to pick up 2 pods in Kalifornia (I filled them both with mostly tools), transport them to Sioux Falls, store them for about 7 months, delivered them to the acreage and then picked them up after I unloaded them.
If you choose to go this route, I do have some recommendations to prevent this:

I'm not looking forward to that.
Presuming I do what the wife wants and rent a truck its gonna be full side to side, front to back.

Dave, if the U-haul isn’t big enough, Old Dominion or CF freight will park a 30’ft van trailer in your driveway. You load and secure. Some times if you don’t need the whole trailer they charge by the foot. They drive it out and the local freight yard parks it in your new driveway to unload. We did that about 7 years ago to move the in-laws from TN to ND. I don’t recall the last cost but it was reasonable. Compared to other options. We had that van trailer packed from floor to ceiling.
Once we got it to ND we hired an apartment moving company for about $200 to unload and bring into the house.
