Commercial previews our next generation

Luxury was a multi-speed record player with a 45rpm adapter. Albums, too!

I realize that young 'uns need their "tunes" and such. BUT to seek to look kewl with a pair of earbuds in your ears when you're out in public just seems a bit wrong, to me. As if you're in your own little world, oblivious to what might be going on around you . . . inattention to that might get you killed or robbed, sometimes.

I understand that some elite athletes might need to get focused before competition and the earbuds/music might assist in that by tuning out other distractions. But when a rank amateur seeks to emulate that in a normal workout situation, what I see is "pretender".

Most music is really poetry put to a soundtrack. Wonder if "rap" might be as popular if everybody started to call it "poetry" instead? Dissecting the verses to see if they have all of the correct aspects of poetry? Hehe

Can't forget the people with their cheap sub-woofers turned up on a rap "song"! Thinking they're kewl as the whole car vibrates in sympathetic resonance. Boom BUZZZZZZZZ

Guess that was the generation that grew up watching DVDs as they were on vacations, rather than looking out the window and getting a geography lesson?
