There may already have been a thread on this subject but I thought I would ask. The dash pad on my '62 Polara is in need of repair. Has anyone used the services of Just Dashes to have a repair done? If so, how were the results? Or are there other experiences that any of you guys (or gals) have had that you could share.
Thanks!

Just dashes does good work, but they aren't cheap. Have you asked any local upholstery shops what they recommend?

Trying to do a basic "recover" might have some issues with the heat-pressed grooves in the cover shown. Plus getting all of the corners on the contours sharp, with the added built thickness of an overlay would not look nearly as good as what you now have, I suspect.

Might need some "expanded vinyl" rather than the normal upholstery vinyl, that doesn't stretch.

Just some thoughts,

I have but given up on my dash pad restoration. I had cracks on my 68’ 300 pad. Purchased the products from Polyvance and proceeded. The cracks were very slight so though I could get away with just the filler application. After about three tries, I phoned tech support as the filled cracks were expanding considerably when in the sun, then come down when cooled. I was advised to melt the plastic sticks in the crack to join the vinyl so the edges don’t lift in the heat. Tried that and that helped but not 100%. Seems to be an issue of trying to match the expansion/contraction characteristics of the various materials. After at least 5 tries I have resolved to install a good dash mat on top to lessen the suns effects. No slight against Polyvance. I hear Just Dashes has moulds and they form the whole dash, not parts. Have read customers are very happy with their work. It is I believe, on the $600 plus side however.
