This is a critter I only heard rumors about as I was building my 86 Omni glhs. It is rear wheel drive but I can't find any info on what Yenko did to the engine. Does anyone know? The graphics are hideous. S/C stand for supercharged?
Thing is ugly as hell and you tube vids show it with 350 chevy's installed but no info on the stock details. It is as weird as my OMNI!!!

Yenko Chevrolet was sold in 82. It is now Sun Chevrolet. And no they never made a Yenko S/C Chevette. The S/C stood for Super Coupe. I'm not a Chevy guy (obviously) but growing up about 20 miles away from Yenko Chevrolet & seeing Yenko tuned cars on the street & at the strip I still have to tip my hat to them. They were some pretty mean machines.

Don died in 80/81 in a plane crash I believe?
I think his coolest cars are the mid engine small block V8 Corvair's. Not to take anything away from the man but he basically put the engine in that Chevrolet should have been putting in the first place. Mr Norm had to do this also to get the factory building big block Darts. The best is that Don Yenko figured out how to order 427 Camaros using GMs fleet order program, COPO cars.

I saw this car parked off Brice Road in Columbus during the Nats a decade ago. The guy sure was proud. It's a cleanly executed deal, but it's still a Chevette, and it ain't no Yenko. I'll see if I can find the pic I have.

The S/C stood for Super Coupe.

The S/C for stood for Super Camaro for '67 and '68 Camaros, then Super Car for '69 Camaros, Chevelles and Novas. They first started with hot rodding Corvairs, know as Stingers, then the S/C's, then the Vega (Stinger II) and ended with '81 Camaros (Turbo Z). No Chevette S/C.

The one I posted was a special edition Sandpiper Chevette originally.
