Hello All,

I have a 63 Chrysler New Yorker with the push button trans.

On the driveshaft, where it attaches to the trans, bolts to a flange. There is also a rubber boot around the area. I know this requires some maintenance, but I am unclear as to what to do.

Also, has anyone had any luck with finding parts for it? I remember hearing once CV boots for most cars will work here, since my rubber boot is ripped.

Thank you

That is called a "ball and trunnion". I found a how-to on replacing the boot over on FBBO. The OP said that replacement parts are available from eBay, though it certainly looks like a CV boot would work if you found one with the correct diameters at each end.

Thank you so much for the link!

Do you check it the same way you check the typical universal joint? Just grab it while it's installed and check for any movement?
