NOS Mopar A/C Heater Control Valve 1967-8 C Body W/Auto Temp control

$275.00

HEATER CONTROL VALVE:

Part Number: 2837159

Product Description

Heater Control Valve:

This is the vacuum operated heater control valve for ALL air conditioned equipped models listed below WITH Automatic Temperature Control.

The bypass valve is used to block off the flow off coolant to the heater core while AC is on. If that valve fails or isnt there hot coolant is in the air box while you are trying to cool it making the whole operation moot. Also I think the valve is operated by the slide lever on the dash to adjust warm-cool (at least in a car WITHOUT autotemp). I had an issue with mine in my bbody was always open and I never had good AC until I replaced it.

I have a regular heater valve that is attached to the lever for warm cool
the bypass in the manual indicated its operated by the a/c door
the a/c works great 34 deg at the vent

it seems to be working good
i started looking in to this because of the manual said i should have the bypass valve and i was worried about the 2 rubber hose pieces going bad
and when i looked i noticed i did not have that bypass valve that is why i was asking what it was for.
