| Yesterday i was working on the car (67 ambassador) and I turned the ignition on to check the reverse lights because i cant get them to activate correctly. When i turned back to the car there was smoke under the dash. Turns out the wires going into the back up/turn slot on the fuse panel are the ones that were burning up. They go into the same slot. No damage to the panel or fuse that i can see. Burned the wires from the switch and turn signal which will both need replaced, but i aint touching it until i know what caused this. Its been fine before. Usually this is due to excess current but i cant understand how. Switch works fine when manually activated so i would not expect a problem with it. Thanks. |
