Engine paint

I'm pulling the worn 318 out of my 67 Fury wagon. I bought a good running 75 motor that we are going to freshen up. Since the original motor is red, I want to change the 75 motor from blue to red. What's the best spray can engine paint? If you have pics of the engines you painted then let's see them.

You're going to get a bunch of different answers, but my favorite is Dupli-Color engine paint. Use their engine paint primer too.

It seems to be the best for availability and I'm happy with the price, application, and durability. Does it match 100%? I don't know... I don't think that two engines with original paint will really match either and I've never seen where there's any "written in stone" paint chips or original formulas. Key thing is to pick one and stay with it so it all matches.

Aervoe is my preferred enamel. It's very durable. I have never seen it for sale retail, my machine shop uses it and gets from their supplier.

No Chrysler red though....

Wow! That red looks great. I've used VHT in the past. I've never tried Duplicolor though. Did you use the primer first?

I did not use primer

I use the primer, especially on bare metal.

duplicolor 1634 low gloss black is real nice for the trim items
