Hello and help !!!
I have a 60 Plymouth Suburban and need to remove the interior door handles. Wow they are nasty things. What's the trick ? Window crank handles were relatively easy, door handles absolutely not. So frustrating, fought with it nearly an hour !

Thanks

If I'm thinking of the correct ones they have a center cap that is pried off then a nut under it.

I'm not familiar with the 1960 Plymouth.
Does the crank handles have the square hole with the square retention clip that needs to be pushed sideways ?
If so the FSM should tell you what position the release tab should be in.
In other words, if it is the square hole, there are four sides to the retention clip and only one side will be the side to push in to release the clip.

I also tap the handle in towards the door with a rubber mallet to loosen the grip up a bit .

If you don't have the square mounting holes than none of this will help you.
There is a special tool to remove these types that does make it easier but you still have to know what side the release is on.

Could you post a picture of your interior handles mounting holes?

Thanks so much, Monc440, (first reply) was right, there's a cap with a nut behind it. Coincidentally I got a FSM in the mail today, it paid for itself before leaving the post office parking lot.

Cap came right off...LOL....now I can get in the door and lube everything up. All 4 doors so dry nothing wants to work.

Just got this car, I'm sure I'll be posting other questions ! Love it so far even though it's a project.

Appreciate your help, got some great tips about my 65 Newport in the past. So glad I found this forum.
