How can you tell the difference between a bigblock k member and a small block k member? I'm trying to verify what I have

I thought they were the same, and what made em different was the mounts the engine has. I could be wrong though. I currently only have small block parts cars so I don't have a good reference at the moment.

Just making sure you and I are on the same page on what mounts are. I'm referring to the mounts welded to the stub.

Cool more mopar knowledge! I've seen both stub and k frame names used but didn't know the difference. I do remember reading there are differences in the big block and the small block.

I ordered the small block to big block motor mounts from Mancinis, hopefully they work. The question arose while comparing the the newyorker mounts and the fury mounts. They look identical. Makes me wonder if the furys stub frame is original.

Great read , thanks tallhair. I didn't realize the intricate, interchangeable puzzles pieces mopars can be holy crap!!! As soon as the machine shop is done with my block I'll be putting my puzzle back together. I'm really looking forward to it myself!:yaayy:

I'm still getting used to calling it a "stub" frame, as opposed to "sub" lol. I'm pretty sure they were the same "stubs" for big, and small block up until '73? I know formals have diff stubs for small, and big blocks.
