There must be something, not necessarily intended to cover chrome, but that's what I'm looking for. Some close approximations are "marking paint" (ie for sports fields) and "sacrificial paint" (sort of a wax) used for anti-grafitti coatings (for wallls, exterior surfaces, etc).
I want to paint my bumpers and other chrome items with something that will keep them from pitting for the next 6 - 8 months while the car is stored (indoor storage, unheated). I know that wax is supposed to do this, but I'd like to put on something thicker (and I don't care how it looks) that I can wash off relatively easily and doesn't require a lot of elbow grease.
Is there anything that fits this bill?
