So today I removed assebly and found spring and ball as previously discussed. Got it all back together, worked shifter through gears, happy to hear it clicking positively into gear. Put it all back together and the first thing I noticed was it wouldnt start in park.No problem (started in neutral) I thought just the neutral safety switch needs adjusting. Then I tried reverse. Nothing. Drive? nothing. basically I fixed the issue and created yet another. Mind you, this is day 3 of a shift seal replacement which led to a rooster ball/spring problem, now a completely non functioning tranny. just so you know I dropped entire assembly out of case to put spring/ball in. Im pretty sure the linkage going back to transfer case is misaligned, what else could it be? Good thing im not in my twenties or even thirties any more, I would have probably broken something by now out of the frustration I am feeling. Oh well tomorrow is another day and I am pretty sure I will have that back in my lap again. Let me ask this, when you blindly guide linkage back into transfer case,is it idiot proof? That is what I was thinking as I had to kind of feel it around until it seated and then was able to bolt assembly back in. Thanks again for all the help guys.
