Hello everybody,

I recently replaced the turn signal switch in the steering column of my 1969 Chryslern Town & Country.
With the new unit installed, I went to test everything out and found out that my right side brake light doesn't work anymore.
Everything else works just fine, including the right rear turn signal.

To my knowledge, the right rear turn signal lightbulb, is the same bulb that the brake light uses. Is this correct?
If that's the case, would I be correct to assume that the new turn signal switch is faulty? Or could this me something else?

I am excited to hear all your ideas, thanks in advance guys!

Best regards,
Zip

Most likely, it's a bad ground by the tail lights.

Run a test wire from a good ground to the housings to check.

On dual-filament bulbs, one filament is for the "running lights" (on with the headlight switch). The other filament is for the "variable use" lights, stop lights AND turn signal lights.

New replacement switches are bad news. Play with your turn signals with the hey on and your foot on the brake, and see if your brake light comes back on. The new switch in my Polara does the same thing.
