Petticoat Junction 68 Newport 4-door HT

I'm watching MeTV, Petticoat Junction and they've got a lot of nice scenes of a 68 NY through the 3:34 mark. I was surprised how much of the car they showed.

Correction, after watching it on Youtube, it's a Newport, not a New Yorker.

Nice color, cool car! That actor really gets around Hooterville. Isn't he the same one who plays Alf Monroe the handyman on Green Acres? Wonder if he ever finished the Douglas's bedroom remodel?

Interesting... that show was connected to Green Acres which was locked up with Ford; to the extent of an episode where O.W.Douglas gets a huge, top-of-the line Furd-badged tractor.

Of course they were both spinoffs promised to Paul Henning after the success of Beverly Hillbillies who lived in a perfect all-Mopar world, lol.

I loved all those shows. They were an odd mix of slapstick, but with tight writing. I don't "lol" easy but I can with those shows. All three with great, memorable theme songs that will be burned into my brain if I see 100.

Not bad considering they were all canned a year before I was born! Thank you no-budget UHF channel 20, and now MeTv!

Sorry, Commando...I guess I kinda thought General Discussion was fair game for this sort of thing. A lot of us grew up with the Hillbillies and Junction, and it just seemed fun to throw in the Elly Mae and Bobbi Jo pix alongside the Mopars. But I can see where you're coming from...I'll keep that kinda stuff in the "Mopar Babes," thread.
