so I kept reading how people “throw away” 318’s, and “Door stops”...well I kept finding local ones with the 302 heads for about 350-450 bucks. Kept shying away from those. I wanted a 318 with the 302 heads, so I could build it as I wanted too without time constraint. My original 36000 mole one is running well, and I didn’t want to mess with it. I wanted a simple swap, keep the original motor original and store it.
So on FB market place a guy posted “free 318. Need it gone by Sunday night”. Called him up and he says it runs and is a 86. I couldn’t find a way to pick it up, no engine lift, and only my work van to put it in. So for 100 bucks he loaded it in his truck, and a cherry picker, hauled it the 45 minutes to me and unloaded it!
As a bonus it came with a 904 attached, but he says it was slipping so he didn’t even mention it in the listing.
So, they are still giving them away!
