Removed the two cables connected to auto pilot, sprayed in liquid white lithium, held cables in high position for an hour. Results improved but at 45 mph the speedo needle jumps all over the place. Seeking advise on what else I can do ?
Thank You,
Andy

Throw away the spray can of white lithium, no place for it on a car.

Now for best results you will need to remove the cables you sprayed from the car, remove the inner cable and clean out the cable housings.

When you pull out the inner cable from the housing, look for any small nicks in the cable which can indicate the inner sheath of the housing has worn away, exposing the inner wire mesh of the housing. When that happens, it's time for a new complete cable & housing assy.

There used to be a well-thought of speedometer shop in Michigan, that was run by an old0time speedometer guy who used to work for AC Speedometer.

Just some thoughts and observations,

needle always bounced 5 or 10 mph on my 68 fury...tried lubing cable, replaced cable...same thing....after the car sat a while for the engine rebuild, speedo bounced a couple times the full extent of the dial then stopped stuck at about 100 pulling out of the shop on the test drive...replaced speedo with a used one and no more bounce....so what's going on may be in the speedo head itself...after some research I lubed some spots in the speedo (before installing it) with a rediculously overpriced product that I think was called Liquid Ball Bearings, a synthetic lube they claimed would never gum up...
