I have stock transmisson A727 small block I like to figure out which gear I need for my select tire size 225/50/17 stock rear end etc.

Google speedometer gear calculator. It's more in depth than you might think. Tire size, drive ratios, rpm at cruising speed, all that takes place here.

Assuming it's a '68 based on your screen name. 1965 and down is a different chart.

That is a very small diameter tire for any C-body. Specs from several tire brands at Tire Rack show it has about the same revs/mile as the old E78-14 size. Might need to get into an A-body listing in a Chrysler FSM to find the stated speedo gear combinations, I suspect. Or maybe a B-body listing. 802-806 revs/mile. By comparison, an H78-14 ('66 Newport 4-dr w/factory a/c) was 753 revs/mile.

Figure out what gear you need and then place a Parts wanted ad here for a used one. Brewer Performance and Mega Parts USA are a couple vendors that sell new ones.

What year is your transmission? It makes a difference.

I believe it's a 1975 transmission. It has a off white Speedo gear in it
