Here it is: on the big block heads, specifically the 906's that I have, are all of the valve cover bolts of equal length? I'm not sure but I think I may have a bolt broken on all of the corner bolt holes on my heads. I looked at the FSM and it only give one length. I've cleaned them out with a tap and took a small pick and scrapped out all of the guck in the bottom them yet the bolts don't seat as deep as the other 4. So I thought I'd ask the stupid question!

Nice! Thanks gentlemen. I'd never thought of using studs on a valve cover. Then again I'm a ex Chevy/Pontiac guy that got used to the sledgehammer mechanics that are used to build them.

Only problem with studs everywhere is the bolt holes are crooked and the nuts may not go on if the stud leans over far enough.
