Has anyone swapped in an original Sure Grip into a sedan? I love the idea of building a beefy sleeper

The sure grip alone may not make you go any faster unless you are having traction problems. What gear ratio do you have now and what ratio is the one you want to swap in. I'm assuming you are talking about swapping the whole center section.

3.23 from a Super Bee replacing a 2.76 in my NY

Get the sprocket or gear from the trans where the speedo cable enters the trans housing , they are color coded for each gear ratio you will need one for the 323 its not the same for a 276. It will make the speedo read correct.

Good luck

Thanks for the tip. My speedo is already stuck at 7 during idle and reads off a little when driving so I need to adjust all of that system.

Does that gear have a name or part number?

yes, I tring to attach a chart for you but cant fiqure it out, it does not show correct

Please Note: These part numbers are for the standard style pinion gear. The last two numbers of the part number is the number of teeth for the gear (Example 2538943 = 43 teeth).

Here is an example on how to calculate the wheel diameter to select a speedometer gear to use with the desired ring/pinion gear.

Tire Size: 245/60/15

245mm/25.4mm = 9.64 Inches Section Width

9.64 in. X 60% = 5.79 in. Side Wall Thickness

5.79 in. X 2 = 11.57 in. Total Side wall height

11.57 in. + 15 in. (Rim Size) = 26.6 in. Diameter

So with this Tire Size and 3.91 Gears, I would use a 40 Tooth Speedometer gear.
