See if there is a place nearby that sells old cars and can appraise it for you.

Haggerty doesn't list a value for a '77 Monaco, but does list a '74 in #3 condition.

Quite frankly, if you are having issues getting a value on this car with your current insurance company, it's time to switch. I've had Haggerty myself for many years now and while I never made a claim, I have talked to people that have and there's no problems.

I've had American Modern for 20 years and they have been competitively priced with the Agreed Values. In some cases however, if you want to insure the vehicle for a higher amount of their Agreed Value limits, an appraisal will be needed.
Had a couple claims over the years, and they paid quickly and without any back and forth with an adjuster.
The only fault they have IMO is that they do not offer Cherished Value coverage.
So, if your car is damaged/totaled (in the eyes of the insurance company) you will be able to keep your vehicle, and not let it become the property of the insurance company if it is totaled.
I know Haggerty offers Cherished Value, and will be looking into changing when my move to TN is final.
