I agree with him on optimizing what you have, but that Roadrunner is far from stock. He does mention that the car is scienced out, more like scienced out to the nines. There are every other spring in the seats removed, lawn tractor battery in a large plastic battery case, drain back tubes inside the block with oil blocked off the cam tunnel. Weight is pulled out of the car everywhere you can think of and then some, all so they can put it at the rear of the trunk. Not illegal, not wrong, but also no where near the same as a show car sitting in the grass at Carlisle.
It is awesome the times they can get out of these cars. I love it, Hellcat my a$$ these will pace one of those down the track. Of course money wise they are about equal also.

Yes I was fascinated with this FAST class drag racing. It is what i believe FuryGt does. Amazing times especially with cast iron exhaust manifolds. Uncle Tony did say the car weights around 4000 pounds.
I wish @FURYGT would post a topic on this type of racing ,some videos of the cars and the rules etc. I think it would be very interesting.

Thanks for posting this info. It is too late for me to even contemplate doing this because although I am using HP exhaust manifolds and a stroked block which is legal ,my heads ,intake and possibly roller cam would not be legal.
This doesn't bother me but I am interested how they get their power and then get it to the ground so well on those bias ply stock size tires.

Be easier to take the dude seriously if he didn't wear his hat backwards and cut his hair. He reminds me of all the **** I did wrong in high school. I wouldn't have listened to me in high school. Hell I have a hard time believing some of the **** that comes out of my mouth even today.

Friction reduction, oil control, rollerized trans, drum brakes. For weight they lighten the car and then pile it all back in at the rear bumper, suspension is softened and friction reduction in the suspension is used to get it pitch the weight back on the rear. Those tires are not the old bias plys of years gone by.

It says "14.03 Original equipment reproduction bias-ply tires only. No soft compound tires of any kind are allowed. Retread tires are not allowed. Any car is allowed to upgrade to a maximum size tire of G-70 of the correct* wheel diameter. All cars that were originally available with a 60 series tire can upgrade to a maximum size of G-60 tire of the correct* wheel diameter."

The new reproduction bias tires are very soft. I believe made that way on purpose.
1 to give a secure feeling after riding around in your modern car with modern tires.
2 nobody is looking to get 25.000 miles out of these repro tires so soft rides better and grips better.
Put some old NOS type bias tires on your car and send it into a corner. It will be off the road in no time. With repop tires it will handle respectably, that is from the compound. They also seem to take heat well without going greasy.

A friend of mine builds some of the FAST guy's hemi engines. I was in his garage just yesterday... Interesting stuff...

I think there's a lot to be learned from these guys [FAST class guys} especially if you want a stock or semi stock looking car that for some unseen reason goes like stink.
I wonder if they have a forum of some kind?

Going fast in a car that does not look it is a really good high.

I raced with the Super Car group, which is basically the same rules as the F.A.S.T. racing series. Go to:

SuperCar Races, American MuscleCar Racing

Requires stock cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds, limits on how radical your cam can be but no rules on compression ratio. The 10 and low 11 second cars run on racing fuel. Must run on a tire that was available on your car from the factory, in my case G70/15 bias ply tires.

The 6 pack cars run faster than the Hemi's.
