Welcome, Gearhead

Welcome @Gearhead -- the car that you have acquired has been documented here. I almost bought this car back in 2021, from someone whose brother had bought it in 1991 or 1992 and repainted it in the original EB3 color around 2005. The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted, according to my notes. It also got a new top and a new windshield, but I don't know when that happened. I was also told that the engine and transmission had been rebuilt "by Chrysler" under the brother's ownership, but again I don't know when that was.

Another member acquired this Polara 'vert instead of me (I have three others) and she is now yours. @71Polara383 knows DL27L0D208692 very well.

As for your question, to get the OEM look you need to go with SMS (or, for some models, Legendary). @Cags70PolaraConvert also has an L2B3 interior in his 'vert and ended up going for a non-OEM replacement that looks good.

Lots of 1970 Polara convertible owners on the board (I have 32 and counting). Paging in particular @polara71 @71Polara383 @Fratzog @70VCode @DeMopuar @Stanj @bdalbitz @Megawattkid @carfreak6970 @convert383 @Molez @Fred Jongeling @Bill King @barry-mopar @POCONVERT70 @polaratherapy @ElmoJones @vidsal @JPMODL @1969vert500 @TomC

@mfpo is in Finland. With your car and his, that's a total of 12 1970 Polara 'verts that I know of in Finland -- more pics from you would be great.

There are numerous posts about SMS and Legendary. Both companies, AFAIK, deliver excellent products BUT they can take time to deliver. SMS is particularly notorious for delays -- I have been relatively lucky, some other members have not been. When they finally send the products, though, there is always praise about the quality.

The way I would proceed is as follows:

1. find a good upholsterer who will pick the right foam and be able to reproduce the sewing/piping patterns.

2. Look at actual L2B3 cars. That includes both convertibles and 2dr hardtops. On the convertible side, search the internet for pics of the following 18 VINs:

3. learn the piping and pattern on original cars. Poppy, my red Polara 'vert, had ~31k miles when I acquired her in 2018 and her L2X9 seats were in excellent shape with the original pattern. I can send more / higher-res pics.
