What I've been up too

I've got 29 years to go till I get to pension out, however it's rare for us to have to lift drums unless you either work downtown in the Duncan brake division or you have to pull it to do other repairs, like a wheel stud in that case
We did business with the largest county (population wise) in Minnesota. I was a young punk with a stronger back. I always tried to get help, but back at the shop, ones usually on my own.

Pension is a word we don't say around here anymore. Told in folk tales.

After 10 years of cars, trucks, and assorted pieces of crap, I made a big move to better my future.

I went through the interviews, the testing, the medical, the background checks, etc and was hired, in trade I get a pension after my 29.5 years of service and they are giving me a truck and coach license to go with my Automotive license.

I'm 6 months down and 29 more years to go.

I started out on the 40' and 60' footers but I got transferred to Wheel-Trans just before Christmas.

That's great, believe me you'll get there before you know it...faster than you think, you'll look in the mirror and see your Grandpa!

Honestly that's so true, it feels like yesterday I started and here we are.

Kind of a tradition, but the guys I knew before getting in have taken my picture on my first day at each Division I've worked at, I honestly didn't think 6 months would be as much of a difference as it has been, knowing I have a paycheck in my bank account every Wednesday for the same amount or more (OT) really alleviates stress, it's actually why I decided to invest some money in my daily driver before it was too far gone.

I love my little Ford Tractors, I blame them on Covid, I was bored and had nothing to do, so I bought one, then I bought another, and another, and another and now I have 4 right now and parted one.

This one is "Mutt", my '44 Ford 2N, the most reliable mechanical basterization. It has a '49 8N engine block which has two huge cracks in it that were welded, it has terrible blow by and burns oil, but the SOB starts every time even when it's -20.

I actually bought it for parts for my '42, but got it home and got playing with it and realized the guy I got it off was an idiot and had the timing off, I timed it, freshened up the carb and put a set of points in it and I can't keep it down now.

I hung the loader on it this spring, it's a David Skyline Model P90 made by Midwest products. I love it, it's hands down my favorite tool to have around.

it currently has 272k, my goal is 500k and it's going to make it. I honestly can say I love this truck, I love how it drives, I love how it looks, I love the torque curve of the 360 Magnum, it's been the most reliable truck I've owned, every time anything has failed on it, I've still made it home.

Hard to beat from a truck I bought for $400.00

Old tractors with front end loaders can't be beat. I have to get a back blade for my JD 1020. That will make plowing the driveway a breeze.
