No Reserve: 1969 Chrysler Town & Country

Three-seat wagon. Gobs of options. Auto-Temp. AM/FM/8-track. It's originally from Conrad, Iowa, now in Livonia, Michigan. A little rust, but certainly not terminal. No reserve, auction ends at 2:35pm CDT 7/8/21. Man, I like this one!

That is basically exactly the wagon I really want, but the prices they go for now, have kept from even looking any more.

I hope an active member here gets the winning bid. Good luck!

The description of the car is less than adequate. What actually works and what does not? We know Autotemp 1 likely will never work. What else? The price is low for a reason and they are trying to sell it on looks alone. I hope someone does not get more trouble than what they bargained for when I read lousy descriptions like that one.

???
It's an auction

My point was that the starting bid for one of those wagons is very low given how high it would likely go if it actually was a good one and not just a bastion of problems................................really good ones can bring in the area of $20K in the right market.

My point is it's an active auction. Starting bids should be expected to be 'low'. The only bid and price point that matter is the last one. It very well may hit $10-$15-20k. We won't know until the end. (which will be soon)

Auction strategies vary widely but I personally would not start that low if I were selling a really good one.

Love the BaT comments "At $6,500 You’re getting the 440 & 727. The car is free!"
It's like over in the 440 FakeBook feud, seems some think cores are worth 2/3 grand now.

14, yeah I'd bail too! There'll be another.
That's ridiculous, is that a real TNT motor? Heck the dual exhaust on a wagon is sexy but... I wouldn't give you 3 grand for that rust bucket.
Also it's BaT is there any auctions that people 'Bail' on like eekBay? You know people just **** with the auction to piss the seller off. And would we ever hear about anything like that on BaT? Don't think so as that would be deemed "as not constructive".
I find this comment fishy too, "Thank you to everyone who participated, couldn’t do it without you.".

I loved the outside in the pictures, then saw everything else and was disappointed. I'd love a nicely restored one.

Also it's BaT is there any auctions that people 'Bail' on like eekBay? Very seldom. You know people just **** with the auction to piss the seller off. And would we ever hear about anything like that on BaT? Yes, you do, nearly immediately. Don't think so as that would be deemed "as not constructive". Those comments are usually people that have absolutely nothing constructive or relevant to the car/auction.

When you bid on BaT, you have to have your credit card number on file. So, you bid $10,000 on a car, they put a hold on that card for 5% of the bid (min $500.00USD), up to a max of $5K, until you are outbid. If you win, the CC is immediately charged. If you bail on a BaT auction as a no-pay, you lose the bidder fee on the car, which could be from $500 to $5,000; and you are forbidden from bidding, or even commenting, again. Are you gonna risk that kind of money just to "**** with the seller", knowing you will lose the money? Doubt it. Plus, BaT knows your IP info, so going in under a different nic won't work. Sellers often thank the bidders and commenters, that is normal on BaT. The commenters and bidders do a real good job at not being total assholes to each other, it is pretty much self-policing, and it works. I've been on BaT for over 11 years. It's a great venue, and is dirt-cheap to sell. Way, way better than flea-bay, CL or faceplant assmarket. It is a superb deal for buyer and seller, which is why it is so successful.

Go to any classic car auction. Your buyer fee is normally ten percent of the purchase price, as is the sales fee. You buy a car for $75K at B-J. You also pay another $7,500 as the buyer. The seller pays $7,500 to B-J, as well. Now, on BaT, for that same $75K, the buyer pays a max of $5K to BaT. The seller would pay just $99.00 to list the car for 7 days, or $395.00 for a premium listing, and a 10-14 day listing. And BaT has an average of 40 auctions that start and end on any particular day. Note the number of high-end cars there? They're not stupid. Nothing "fishy" about it at all.
