Carlisle 2021

I was talking with the owner of that green 1972 NYB below as he is staying at our hotel, he said he has had it since 1998. The top and all the interior is original, and the paint was refreshed. He also said it has a power antenna and a dealer installed hood ornament, I will get a picture of the top and interior tomorrow as they are THAT nice. The engine bay still has its original dealer markings too......

I, by accident ran into WIll and Jeff....I spent a hour Discussing his Suburban...what has happened to me?.

am returning tomorrow, I will have a fair amount of pictures to share.

It happens to the best of us. Married, kids, house, cars ... you're a man now .

We NEED You here Polara71 / Dave to lead the organization -- and have one thread !!
I haven't seen the other two yet, so I will report here...

Tuesday -- 97° -- heat index 105° -- setting up and sucking down waters like mad -- scattered thunderstorms for late afternoon -- we SAW 'em -- they went north of us....

Wednesday -- 95 ° -- heat index 102° -- buying started,
Not a lot of people walking around in swap meet area, but some were buying... Forecast of late afternoon storms again went North of us... (Thank you !!!)

Thursday -- official "set up day" -- buying in full force -- aisles were pretty full too.... Going pretty good, too, until
3:13 P.M. when Hurricane Elsa made her appearance....
Winds only 15 - 20 MPH, but whoosh -- lots of torrential rain... Finally ended at 7:45 P.M....

Friday -- a lot of people in the aisles, but 80 % were just looking, wandering, and had empty hands, empty carts, empty hand trucks, empty wagons... you get the picture.
Very comfortable day, the rains cooled things down and it was indeed just glorious. Sales -- not so good...

Saturday is supposed to be absolutely perfect, in terms of weather... A beautiful dry late spring day ... the best day to be here, it should be a winner !!!

There have been no announced car totals at all, not even once, so the question to be answered is, will we get to 2800 + for the 4th time in five years ??? Or, can we eclipse the 3000 plateau...

I am told that there is a 1969 Road Runner in the Car corral, 426 HEMI 4 speed, with an asking price of
$ 147,000.
My friend's friend sold his car today for $ 40,000... sorry to say, I don't know what car it is that went for 40 K...
If I hear, I will let you know.... Craig....

It's a bucket list thing for me...something has always got it the way (work mostly). The last 2 years it's been the closed border due to coronavirus. Some day...
I only see 1 Formal...what gives?

I had a great time at Carlisle! It was great to see all of the guys at the FCBO group photo. I was impressed with 77Newyorker440! Very respectful and polite young man! It warms my heart to see the enthusiasm of this young gun and the excellent work he has done on his New Yorker. I didn't see Will or Jer. I was released from the hospital at 7 am this morning and I drove straight to Carlisle. I only stayed for a couple of hours. Hopefully next year I'll be feeling better and can stay at Carlisle Friday and Saturday. Again, it was great to see everybody!

Agree on all counts. @77newyorker440 caught up with me yesterday as I was leaving, and introduced himself. I’m glad I got to meet him even if I did not have a chance to talk to him for long enough. Your words capture my impression exactly.

Well I made it home. Put almost 850 miles on the Polara and over all no major issues. Was very happy with the way it drove!
Sucks I couldn’t be at the show today but I was there yesterday and am very happy with that!!!

I enjoyed meeting the members and seeing the cars!

I want to also give a big thanks to @ayilar for helping me out!!! I appreciate it!

The cars are awesome, but there’s a great group of guys that make it all happen. Thanks everyone for making this a spectacular return to Carlisle!
