Here it is. Finally pulled it out of the bush. Needs some tlc to get her going again. Father in law bought it new in ‘66 and drove it till ‘92.
I have the opportunity to buy a parts car but its 4dr. Would the bottom of the rear quarters be the same? Inners? Rockers? Or because 4dr it'd all be different?Nice to see another 66 being prepped for road duty. Cool that your father in law bought it new.
Oh that'd be great. The car is a couple hours drive and the guy wasn't too helpful. My rockers aren't terrible but the quarter behind the wheels are almost gone, typical.Quarters should be the same behind the wheels, and inner wheel wells. Not sure about the rockers, but it if you get the car, easy enough to find out. I can look in the parts book tomorrow.
Looks pretty sweet to me. 4dr parts cars will work?I love your car. My 880's evil twin.
A good wash will change it quite a bit. I feel the 66 880 side trim is killer. Just me.
My polara required a small amount of metal replacement. The inner fender was rotten on both sides.. I cut out the rot and used as much inner fender from a 4 door as I needed. . I made the lower quarter panel patches myself. Paint is hard to match. My car is darker on 1 side than the other. I have 3 and half miles of gravel getting to the hardtop and I leave a little dust on and nobody notices the color difference.

Nice photo. Don’t want to hijack the thread but… tell us more about that GJ4 Plymouth!I love your car. My 880's evil twin.
Yeah you do.Don’t want to hijack the thread
I’m just north of WinnipegThe rear of the back door on 4 door is further back than a 2 door. So no a complete quarter panel from 4 door wont fit a 2 dr. But the wheel opening and inner fender is same. So there is a lot of salvage on a 4 door.
I see a manitoba plate on your car .
Were are you located.
I'm 45 miles se of Brandon
I cant answer that question. I can say that the inner fender is exactly the same on 65 and 66. I used 65 inner fender. My 65 4 door had rusty lower rear quarters and I dont remember if they are same as 66.Does a ‘65 Polara/Monaco have the same lower front and rear quarters? Behind the wheels?
383 2 barrel column shift basically original condition. My brothers car. My parents got it new. Nice carNice photo. Don’t want to hijack the thread but… tell us more about that GJ4 Plymouth!
Personally I like the 66 grill better than 65. Nothing wrong with 65 grill.Always loved the grilles on these 65-66 Dodges.
