Hi all,

Does anyone has a source for the speedo cable o-ring going into the holder or
will a generic one work with the tranny fluid...???

Might check with a local automatic transmission shop. We used to carry them at the dealership (GM) until the speedometer drives went electronic and the plugs weren't removed as much. GM sold them in a package of 10, as I recall. Not sure about the aftermarket, though. Maybe NAPA, too? Other than the outer o-ring, there is also a spongy lip seal on the inner barrel of the casting, which seals the driven gear's shaft.

A generic o-ring can work, but if it's not compatible with ATF, it'll get soft and start seeping in a few weeks.

Just some thoughts,

I had to get the same seal a few years ago and could only find online....had to buy a box of them.

How many do you have left..... =)

I found something here but they can't verify what is shown is what I'll get.
It's confusing because the same description is used on more than 1 seal...

I sold them on here a few years ago, none left.

What you found will work, check these out too: You need the housing o-ring and the pinion seal.
