I'm in the country so I don't have access to a local upholstery shop.

What is this foam called and where to get a roll of it.

The long thin piece goes on top of the windshield frame, under the top chrome trim. The wider piece is on the A pillar against the windshield frame.

I think you can get this in a hardware store. It's just regular weatherstripping. Just find the same material.

Haha. My hardware store definitely doesn't have it. I can get a barbed wire, salt licks and a cattle prod though!

I live in Montana, east coasters have no clue how big this state is and how far we have to drive to get anything. When we go into town, we have a list, a big list and you better be sure to get EVERYTHING on the list. everytime I do a "Crap I forgot xxxx" it equals a half tank of gas and hours I'll never get back.

Closed cell foam weatherstrip tape.

closed cell foam weatherstrip tape - Google Search

You can probably order it right to your door on line.

I live in Ontario - so I know how big a state like Montana is - a good comparison is that in the eastern USA I can drive from NYC to St Louis Mo and the same distance is only 1/2 way through Ontario... so I feel your pain!

Cool beans. Closed Cell, that's the par that my brain wasn't coming up with. Now to find some REALLY really thin stuff for that A pillar piece.

Amazon would probably really be your friend here.

yep, but but I need to know what to search for by name. and Amazon isn't really my friend anymore <Gripe mode on> what used to take 3 days, is taking them 7-10 days to get anything to me the last few months, but for all I know that's for everybody. Feels like the old days of ordering from the Sears Catalog sometimes.

Amazon has slowed down. We have a warehouse not far (Clay, NY) , so the Amazon trucks deliver most of our stuff, but it often doesn't make the promised date. Of course, when they first started, they had to go through loads of bad delivery people that would do stuff like lean a heavy package against the door so you can't get out, but it looks like they've got a better crew now.

There is a trick is that when it doesn't meet the promised date plus a couple days, they will refund your money and they'll tell you to keep the item when it does show up.

But, yea, you really need to figure out what you want before you start searching.

I'm fortunate that I have 2 well stocked "Mom and Pop" hardware stores within a few minutes drive. They always have the odd stuff the local farmers need, so that's always good for me to try to make something work.

We have an Amazon warehouse in Petersburg, Virginia. They always beat the scheduled delivery date. I think it depends on the warehouse, especially the Human Resource Dept.

I have been to Montana, there are huge distances between major cities. Beautiful state!

some types of floor underlayments are closed cell foam. way more than you need but probably easier to find

Try hirschauto.com or gahh.com, LeBaron Bonney went out of buisness.
I purchased a few auto upholstery books and just looking at suppliers for Convertible tops but i agree Amazon will be the best for you. If what you get doesn't work you can always use it on the drafty tractor cab, I know I have one.
Just about to go and plow more flippin snow.

Location location location. They turned my beloved Pontiac Silverdome and parking into a 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile Amazon ¨city¨ and sometimes the wife orders something at noon and gets it by 5pm. Progress I guess but memories of my class graduation and watching Barry make defenders look like fools are what I think of when I drive by the ¨city¨
