I am getting together some photos for an album of my 300. Here are some that I never posted of the day I moved her home last year, after sitting in the same spot for 32 years.
Now that you can see a before and after, you can actually tell the BIG difference from what it looked like when you got it to how it looks now, that's damned good work even if I am repeating myself
Thanks guys and I have enjoyed the journey. I was lucky to find such a solid car to work with. I have been in a really good mood lately and I realized that it is the anticipation of working on the 300. My exterior work is finished for the season the 300's interior will be finished, so finally she will be back in my shop.
I have a few thing to reassemble, center console, wheel wells. I am going to have the power steering and transmission rebuilt. I might have a few things re-chromed on the interior, but I will probably hold off on that. I want to repaint the engine and engine bay and it would make sense to do that when I'm having the tranny rebuilt.
The engine has 63,000 runs strong and burns no oil. I put 1,000 miles this year and didn't use a drop. That would be my only hesitation of not pulling the engine and painting this year. I was originally going to wait until it needed rebuilt.
I'll post a picture of the engine bay tonight. Pretty rough right now. I painted the underside of the hood already, but have not touched anything else. I could just paint the air cleaner and valve covers and clean it up some more, but I wouldn' t be happy just going that far.
It's stuff we have over here in America. We used to make all our own but now it all comes from China.
I tried the German ones but man they are expensive.
