Hello transmission Pro‘s,
Just putting together my 66 A727 transmission.
I’ve put in 3 new thrust washers in the Output shaft Assembly and measured clearance under the small Snape Ring on the shaft within tolerance (.016“ /0.4 mm).
Installed the output shaft assembly back into the case and there is a lot of clearance.
I can move the shaft in and out by approx. 0.1“
Is this clearance „fixed“ by the roller bearing when clamped in the housing Extension, or does this require extra shim to be placed somewhere else.
Did not found this mentioned in my Shop manual and Tom Hand book.
