I have a ‘65 Newport Convertible. I was wondering what is this opening on the firewall ? Is it meant to be covered? Appreciate ideas….
I have an original one somewhere. If I can find it, I will make a drawing. Its from a 65 Fury. The one I got from vans that said it was for C bodies did not fit. The one that did fit was listed as 61 to 65 B body. It is oval in shape rather than trapezoidal. For 66 newport.
Yep, the oval one, not the trapezoidal ones.See post #9 here. I am 100% positive these are the correct ones.

So which one did you buy? Thanks to my extended Mopar family for identifying and providing a source to buy the part!
Looks great!

Unless they have factory air conditioning. Then, they only use one.1965 and older B-bodies (1962?) use 2 of those flaps.
or worse! Mine rusted out at the bottom AND the little alcove where the wiper motor sits! That is actually a cowl drain - there are passageways that drain out at the bottom of the car. The issue is that they can get filled with leaves and dust and clog up, and then the whole cowl panel rusts out of the bottom.
