Although there's no way I do this, I admire his level of concentration, his calmness as you can clearly hear the train coming along the tracks via the horn....the clacking sound of the wheels......the whoosh of the wind........the echo of the train itself. I could feel my stomach get tighter and tighter as the train got closer and yet not so much as a flinch from the guy. Blocked it all out. Completely. WoW.

I wouldn't do it... But there's a lot of clearance between him and the train. The lowest piece is on the front of the engine and that misses him by at least 6". As long as he stays put, the only real danger I can think of is having his coat fly up and get caught in the undercarriage.
I still wouldn't do it... but it's not all the dangerous.
I once stood in the alignment pit at the end of the F-150 Ford assembly plant in Norfolk as the trucks drove over the top. They would drive up fast and pause while a guy would reach up and dial in the front end. The clearance between the top of his (and my) head and the bottom of the truck was less than the train.
I still wouldn't do it... but it's not all the dangerous.

i work for uprr lol the guys lucky he didn't have a low hanging air hose clip him... you'd be amazed how many times a train rolls into town w **** hanging that sets off a dragging equipment detector...
Or anyone of the armed forces Stan, we did it first

Not even close to being the same. The moron lying on the tracks was completely oblivious to what he really was doing. He had no idea if he was going to live or die and he could not have cared less on it going either way. That is not something you can train for. The adrenaline junkies methodically plan every step so as to not kill themselves. They don't want to die. The kid on the tracks is very mentality unstable.
