Is this worth the cost of being a 1 or 2 ever built??????

Well, all you have to do is start a new thread with one of his cars for sale, mention it in the title and he will chime in. We will never know the selling price however unless the buyer posts.

Dave, the last time I saw it for sale he was asking $19,000, not 60k.

Yeah, I know but I had to throw the outrageous number he started out with out there. Just to show how far the insanity goes.

I'd guesstimate it went for around 15k
This is the ONLY info given by a man who toots his own horn endlessly.
blk / blk car SOLD last week..so 1 less V code fury GT available for public consumption!.....
That's it..........

I am holding my thoughts on this.

This must be the other V code he has. At least this one has all the sheet metal:

I couldn't resist the opportunity to ask this guy through ebay what documentation he had to support his claims. This is his reply.
there is no documentation on production of ANY of the known chrysler corp factory show cars... being a fury there was no reason to make more than 1 for each country.. challengers and cudas and such had 4-5 built in different configurations 340-hemi etc...it has all the promo/show car codes on the fender tag.. i own the other of the 2 also which is the USA SHOW car .... its for sale also... i have ran these by everyone who is anyone in the car authentication industry..and no one has seen or even heard rumors of any others..i also had a freind run the vin thru the canadian dmv looking for another and nothing came up..canada kept much better records than the usa... hope that helps good luck dan

And to his comment about "ran these by everyone who is anyone in the car authentication industry", he didn't run it by me. And I've got the answer as to how many were sold in the U.S. and how many were sold in Canada.

What's that old line about "bull **** walks"?

So how many show cars are there?

I guess it would all depend on how many ended up on a car dealers showroom floor !!! :eek:s_dancing2:

Back in 1982 I bought a brand new Ford F 250 that was at the New England Auto show in Boston it was no big deal, did not have any special markings or documentation that came with it. When I sold it four years later no one gave a rats behind that it was a Auto show truck. :dontknow:

Well, to the OP: these overprice cars have been for sale for years. Years.

So how many show cars are there?

Chrysler didn't even bother to track how many there were with "show car finish". There were 375 Fury GTs in 1971. 34 came to Canada, the rest stayed in the U.S. If you want a rare one, get one of the 3 built at Newark. The other 372 came from Belvedere.

Thank you for that production break down.

It is important to remember that Chrysler production numbers from 1969-1980 are ONLY aggregate numbers, NOT actual production numbers. They are an estimate from the percentage of total production; the ACTUAL number of 1971 Sport Fury GT's is unknown. And for that matter ANY Chrysler product from 1968-1980 the same applies.

Insofar as Mr. Corley's 1971 Sport Fury GT Promotional cars are concerned, the VON is correct for promotional cars, and so is the SPD. One can only assume from those facts, (just like the "assumed" production number of 375 units) that the cars are what Mr. Corley, and various MoPar experts in the community say they are.

The question that is unanswered is how many "Promotional cars" were produced. Mr. Corley says two units, and that would be a valid assumption, but factually it is currently unknown.

Best regards,

FP

How about I tell Mr. Corley that a car that was supposedly a promotional car means crap as far as his car is concerned. There's nothing about it that is really special except the VON. It looks like a lot of cars that are the same model.

ps...wouldn't know when the last 71 GT was built as well?

Thanx
