Any member with "Superlite" option pics out there? I have an N.O.S. piece, not sure what direction I am going with it, use, sell , etc. Do you need a special grill with the cutout on a 69 Polara? Any pics or info will help. Thanks in advance!

I took a look at this car awhile back, but did not purchase it. This is the only decent photo showing the Super Lite, and it isn't the best either. Sorry. ('69 Polara 500)

Grill is different than a non superlite grille. You also need the bracket for the light, wiring harness, relays and dash switch and dash bezel....

I also looked at photos of that car. When I did the math on what you would pay for and restore the car it may even exceeded the book value. I did not love it that much.

The N.O.S. piece I have comes with the light, housing, bracket, wiring harness, and boot. I did some checking and most literature claims its controlled by the dimmer switch. Can someone verify this and what yours looks like?

No it does not. If you are driving with the Super lite on and hit the high beam switch on the floor for your high beams to come on the super lite goes off, hit the floor switch again and the high beams go off and the super lite will resume operation.... Moral to the story, all five lights can not be on at the same time if wired the way the factory intended it.

You also need the under dash harness and relays........ and switch. If you have a convertible, wagon or car with a rear defogger you need the small black bezel, if you have a 2 or 4 door without the rear defogger you need the complete dash bezel.

Check the archives here on this site. Around the time when the car above was listed, a member submitted a photo of the dash (close up) and showed the switch.

Ok,if you can snap a photo of the dash bezel that would be great, unless of course you are speaking of passed experience and no longer have the car. Thanks for the education, just goes to show you, cant always believe what you see on the net.

Ahhh...from the looks of it, i am screwed...never finding one of those! Great info though,Thanks!
What Dave said and ...... Not sure why you think you are screwed. If it is the switch and small switch bezel you are missing just rig up a discreet toggle switch out of sight until you find the correct pieces. The small switch bezel with "superlite" embossed on it is actually separate plate that fits over the hole in the main bezel. So the main bezel does not need to be changed out just a hole drilled in the right location (once have the small bezel of course).

It is true, the original Super Lite switch in the dash is a toggle switch that looks somewhat aftermarket-ish:

By the way, did someone ever take a look at an actual original Super Lite bulb? There is only a Mopar part number given in the book and I wonder if a replacement would be available today.

Only two NOS superlites and a used lite for a 1970. I sold all my other superlite stuff...NOS and used. Guys here needed it and at some point you gotta ask yourself...how much do I need to hoard?

Well thanks for the info guys,i will keep an eye out for some parts. I might just sell it but would like to gather the pieces for the next potential owner.
