The NYB gets a new Tuxedo

I hope you like the pics because I never had a premium paint job before and I am kind of like a proud father.

You should be proud .. looks great Stan

Nope....Stan has to put a 4 speed in it before he sells them....

Stan as usual I late to another amazing thread. The car looks outstanding. The paint looks like something Ma Mopar should have offered. Road Wheels with red centers add a bit of pop.

I was wondering who had a similar paint scheme stock in the late Seventies. It was both Buick and Oldsmobile. Here is a '78 Riviera with the reverse of your paint. I like it! You pulled off a winner on your New Yorker, Stan!

The blue / dk blue combo are sought after cars! What happened to that one?

The NYB looks great!

A tree fell on the Charger and crushed the right side A-Pillar, roof, pretty much the whole right side of the car.

Steering wheel's new home....

When I saw the first picture with the hose, the wet ground and the car it screamed Craigslist. Sorry, but that was the first thought that went through my mind.

The next thought was stunning...

Looks great!!! My buddy has a 1982 imperial Ive been working on, he said he took it in for some touchups and had the entire car painted dam near show quality. Looks like the same gray as yours. Ugh I need to get mine painted!!! I just looked at my bank account and right now it doesnt say new paint job :( lol

Does that sign say Autorepait ? :laughing4:

But seriously: Paint Job Looks real good.

Not Pedro but Raffael.
He is the American Dream story personified.
Came from Mexico.
Works from 6 AM to 3 PM for somebody else.
Then arrives at his own shop at 4 PM until around Midnite or so ( That Auto Repait shop is next door. It is not him).
He drives 2-1/2 hrs. twice a week where he takes courses on painting.
He attends paint manufacturer's seminars at his own expense.
He is passionate about painting cars.

The Corvette you see in the shop in one of the pictures was painted two weeks ago by another shop.
Not a show paint job so now it is at Raffie's shop to get that million dollar paint job.

He is moving soon to his own building where he can keep his booth and work area under one roof.

He has no interest in auto body repair. He wants to paint!

I am actually proud to know him now.

That's a great story Stan! Love to hear about great people and their endeavors!!!!

And the guy is young enough to take care of all your paint needs forever.

I'm still trying to find someone local to paint my NYB sometime this year. I know 2 guys. One is too busy with contract work and I can't find the guy that painted previous projects for me. He's slow as hell but does exceptional work like Chris.

I have a lead on another guy that I'm going to see when the snow and salt is gone.
