Chrysler T.N.T, what color did Ma paint the T.N.T.s Hemi Orange or Blue?

Came across a 69 T.N.T. that beautiful Hemi Orange. What have yous guys seen? Whats really gone on mom? B.T.W. here's the # from the p-side, above pan. CH23L9C171192.Decodes: C-Chrysler NewPort,300,NewYorker. SECOND DIGIT-Price class H-hi.... THIRD/FOURTH # 23 Two Dr. Hdtp....FIFTH DIGIT L 440-1 4 bbl, High Performance. SIXTH #=Model Yr.9 SEVENTH DIGIT=Assembly Plant=Jefferson Michigan... Oh ya it's SOLD and I bought it. The seller said he acquired it from a friend who got rearended.
 
Chrysler (or Corporate) Blue was not on a big block until 1972. It WAS on some 318/340 blocks, starting in the 1969MY.

That list is wrong, concerning 318 and 340 in 1969. You could have Orange, Corporate Blue or Red. It was a roll of the dice. I've owned small-block '69 cars (mostly Darts) back in the '80s and early '90s, and had all three. Plus, the GTS Registry has helped to verify this information.

Yes, it depends on which plant it came from. Ma Mopar was pretty liberal with engine paints colors back then. We discussed this in detail a few times in the past. That is why I stated the list is almost complete...because of the known variants.

That particular link and list has made the rounds of most of the boards. It's been cussed and discussed to death. There are some accurate listings but there are enough mistakes on the list to make it very confusing. It's probably not the best list to use for accuracy. One should consult other sources.

Error examples:
Use of orange paint on 66-68 non Hemis.
Use of orange on 1970 318
 
My 69 300 engine was orange. No pictures of the engine, but here is the car taken in 1974.

That is correct, the plants had some discretion. I had my first 69' GTS in 1979. It was a One owner prior to me, And had Never been messed with. The engine was turquoise, so those guys selling paint are in error regarding the 340. My current 69' 340 purchased in 1992 was also turquoise. The were both from the LA plant. Every 273/318 67-69 I owned were also red, A or B body. My Brother's 68'340 GTS was definitely red, though.Lol
 
My 1969 440 motor started life blue. Not HP. Someone then painted it purple to match the outside of his car. It's going to end up hemi orange before it goes in my 70 Fury convertible.
