Why? For photo collectors? None of us are buying anyway....If we are then make the call

I just meant "to get the car sold".. but now that you brought it up, I wonder how many of us here, would mind 20 more pictures of this fine automobile? :-D

This "micro rant" was not aimed at THIS particular ad, but just in general.. as I never understood why advertisers don't utilize the "sale venues", (in this case CL), to it's full potential. This ad had VERY satisfying honest description, but just the one picture. Often potential buyers only get more or less useless information.

"Awesome car, third owner, newer tires, some parts in trunk, wont reply to emails".

The current CL platform don't have a lot of potential to begin with.. I mean the almost ancient user interface, very limited search functions, small size & low res pictures, and probably also a limited number of characters, but if you CAN write.. let's assume; a 1000 characters, then why stop at 15 words..? And if you CAN post 5 low res pictures on CL, then why post just ONE... 9 year old picture... shot from 40 ft away.. showing more of the neighborhood than the car. I read read it as an attempt to entice potential buyers to call, so that the seller can work the potential buyer over with "verbal magic", instead of supplying relevant information up front, and the best pictures possible.

PS: What's wrong with photo collectors? :-D

Because people have different views on selling? I for one would call a one sentence ad that said 1970 dodge polara convertible, call ### ### ####

However, if I saw a photo or two of said car and it wasnt my cup of tea I may not.............. sometimes the less said the better

Especially if you are the first one to find the ad...

I get your point.. I would probably call anyone who posted a 69-71 2 door Imp myself, even without a single word as description.. but would still prefer as much information up front as possible..

but as you correctly state; PPL has different views ;-)

Of course we all would want as much information up front, that way we dont have to call or the questions we have are answered. If they leave out information then we have questions that beg to be answered and many times reach out because our curiosity gets the better of us.

I understand both sides

That's exactly how I found my 69 Sport Fury Vert. a little crappy one line ad and no picture at all.
