From Allpar.com

"As mentioned earlier, the prime mover of Mopar performance in the early 60s was the 383. In 1960, Chrysler introduced the wild aluminum cross-ram intake setups for the motor, which suspended the carbs over the fenders and fed the air/fuel mixture through long two runners which ran over the valve covers on opposite sides of the engine (photo at right). A nasty short-ram setup was also available but only through the parts department."

He'll never find them then. If he does, the price will be up in the stratosphere somewhere....

They are. a little similar to 60 300f 4 speed special though.

I too have never seen a set of those short rams. And the fact that they were only available through the parts department, and thus rare, rare, rare, think tracking a set down will be difficult, and expensive.

Cool looking set up though. I've always wanted a motor with the cross rams, and Max wedge elephant ear exhaust manifolds. Obviously the long rams would never work in that combo...but those short rams probably would....Hmmmm.

I've never seen short rams ever. I've only seen the long rams.

I don't know about a triangular air cleaner. The air cleaner looks a lot better when you standing in front/or at the side of it and looking. It's an Edelbrock 4224 polished aluminum air cleaner.
