Head Question

As some of you know, I recently purchased a set of Trick Flow heads. I ordered the "flat tappet" version over the "roller" version, as that's what my 383 has. I now want to use them on a 522 with a roller setup. That brings me to me question - what is the difference between a "roller" and "flat tappet" spec'd head? Is it just the spring and valve stem locks? I tried calling Trick Flow themselves and went straight to voicemail.

Just the springs, the locks and retainer on trick flows are already 10° I believe, 7° is stock.
Really the cam specs dictate the springs used.

Trick Flow heads come with 7 degree steel retainers, 10 degree steel retainers or 10 degree titanium retainers. You will have to find out what springs are required for the cam you are going to run and make sure you get the correct locators, retainers and locks for the springs.
