Hey Dave was it just random or plant specific? Seems like all the A, B And E bodies are screws only but the C's had both so I just wondered if it was a line or plant specific thing?

I've seen Cs with both. Of our years Belvedere almost always used rivets, Newark also. I've seen a few with screws however

I thought tx9 is a black paint job

I would say tx is the black interior and r6 for red exterior as body color is on left of tag above engine code

I came to this site because I was told my ad had been posted here and I wanted to see it. When I read the comments I saw a lot of speculation and some outright false statements. When I posted the correct information I was told I needed "schooled" on how things work here. I would assume they are like everywhere else, people want facts not assumptions. The condition of the car depends on the buyer. If you want a factory restoration it's a complete tear down. If you want to clean it up and drive it in the summer it's a few weekends. Of course I got an attitude when some "experts" start telling others about a car they have never seen or attack me when I set the record straight. I never said you could put gas in it and drive home but some of you act like I'm trying to sell a lugnut with a title

It wasn't a selling tactic. I'm out of room and the city gave me a week to move it. Regardless of what some people on here may think im a car guy. I've done many full restorations for myself, never to flip. I don't flip cars, I find something I like and build it for me. It's my therapy. My brother bought a huge Mopar collection for himself and there were about five cars he didn't want. This was one of them. To those not liking my attitude just remember. I have always been truthful in what I have said and never offered speculation. I have bought cars that were misrepresented and I will never do it to someone else. Lastly, I didn't solicit this page to sell my car, my ad was posted and I heard about it. I only tried to set the record straight and clear up any assumptions that were posted as facts. Thanks

You can do what you want. The ad accurately describes what it is and is not. Anyone that was interested got about 30 pics sent to them, including the fender tag. Yes it is a factory 440 car. I believe it was originally red. It is complete. As the ad says it's a project and the price reflects that. I wouldn't consider it a huge project but I can see where some might. It's a 1 of 8 car and priced fairly. If I don't move it soon, the driveline will be rebuilt for a b body and the car will be crushed. Lastly. The car is 47 years old and a convertible , with a big block for under 2500. Of course it needs restoration. However the level of work it may require depends on who buys it

2. Can we confirm its condition with additional definitive photos and/or "eyewitness" testimony from a serious buyer?
3. Anybody here own(ed) one, or know where another one is? Photos of that/those others?

Factory 440. Vin matches, and fender tag posted earlier. Good title. Needs lower front and rear quarter work, trunk work on sides, floor patch drivers rear. Doors open and close as new with good gaps on all panels. Rockers and frame good. Car is complete minus factory radiator. I have replacement. Trim good, needs top, all parts there.

Bill owns one from new and is the 70 fury III 440 authority here


A06 Sport package was 1969 only
The only 440 option for a Fury III was E85, E86 and E87 were restricted to Sport Fury and Sport Fury GT. The GT with E87 are known as "V-Code" and as far as I know only a half dozen or so still exist, although none are still on the road.
The E85 engine option included Power Disc brakes. Don't know if it was possible to get any Fury with a 440 and manual brakes. A car that size would be a bear to stop.
As for rarity, any 70 Fury convertible is one of 1952 built and one with a 440 engine is one of an estimated 20 built. Surviving 440 convertibles like mine are one of only seven known to exist.
So 1 of 7 is rare enough for me.
