Gas Tank

The 66 is different, if you can wait I heard through a very reliable source that there is a reproduction of the '66 tank on the way.

I think it is the '65 tank that is different due to the side fill tube vs. the rear fill tube.

Tease. And here I'm wondering how many spares I have in parts cars, maybe two if I'm lucky.

FYI I will check out the time table for the release and an expected price. Unfortunately I don't think it will be cheap.

Skeeter, I got a reply back, it will not be available until this summer, which if it is like most cases for new products, it will end up being fall. The price will be in the $350 range, which is in the range of the later c-body tanks.

Here is a another option, but you would be getting a smaller 19 gallon tank. It has been discussed here and it will fit, and quite an inexpensive option at around $100. If you would go with this option, you would need to buy the sending unit for this tank too.

Thats some good news, not terrible money for todays prices. Nice to have the option of a nice clean new part. I can't wait to see what range I have with a 26 gallon tank and 2.76 gears, wonder if the odometer works in the 500!

Zymurgy , that is good news if it's the fall before it's out that is no problem, I think the tank I have now is only 22 gal. not sure though. The tank that is to come out may be a better Tank

I personally would wait for the bigger tank. I have the original and I can only get 20 usable gallons in it. That's smaller might be only 15 gallons or less.

Plus obviously just being the correct tank. My tank is going over 5 years with red kote sealer. I feel like I am on borrowed time, since the shop said it wasn't a permanent solution, based on the condition of the tank.

Strange, I got my tank off e-bay about 7 years ago. Someone was repopping them then. I paid less than 200 for it. I wonder what happened...

OP will have to ask specifics because the 65 and 66 tanks are totally different.

65 is side fill, and 66 fills at the rear.

The one Vans has pictured appears to me to be for a 65.

So doesn't he need #CR1002A then? It is a rear fill and specifically says it fits 1966 Fury.

It's a little hard to tell in the pictures they have, the tank they have pictured looks strange to me...I think I still have pics of my tank install...I'll look...

I found it but it is tiny
