Update: I also have the black plastic backing plate that fits around the back of the headlights and the metal headlight mounts with all 4 bulbs still attached. Asking $100 plus shipping for the complete set up or you can select the grilles below. If you want the backing plates/bulbs, $40 for the pair plus the ride.

I have a pair of '72 Fury III grilles (non-concealed headlights) that are in good to very good condition. $80 for the pair, plus shipping.

I have many other parts from this Fury III. I bought this one as a parts donor for my other '72. I stripped many parts off of it before having what was left of the shell hauled away.

I will be posting a few other parts on here from time to time as I go through my inventory.

If you have a specific request, let me know and I'll see what I have.

Thank you,
Dan

Hey Ben,

Thanks for the warm greeting (just wish the weather here in VA was warmer).
I'll be posting some big parts like the engine (360 2BBL) that was running when I stripped the car. I actually drove the car home from where the shipper dropped it off about 3 miles and moved it around the yard a few times before removing. I will possibly keep the trans.
I have the big body parts like hood, trunk, complete doors, all tinted glass (factory AC) except windshield, bumpers, etc.
I'll have smaller parts and maybe a couple of NOS parts. I hope to post more soon.

Thanks again,
Dan

Hey Dan

what's the condition of the bumpers? Rust? Need rechrome?

parts car 2 door or 4 door?

Thanks, Ben

Hey Ben,

As far as the bumpers, I've got to go to my storage area and check on them, but I do believe they both would need some work and rechroming.

Parts car was a 2 door and I decoded the Vin as best I could when I got it:

Just FYI:
K is 360 V8
Mine is PH23K2D, also a 360

My Trim Code
D4Y5 D=Deluxe 4=Split vinyl seat with center armrest Y5=Medium Gold
Not sure how you got a C

V5Y is Protective Mouldings. My fender tag also has this code.

Is there a pic of the 49K mile 72 Fury you restored somewhere? Thanks, Ben

Hey Ben,

You are right on the K. I had used one of the on-line decoders when I first got the car, but later got a Mopar decoder book and read the K was the 360 2 BBl. I had saved a Word document and used that in my reply, not even thinking that I had never updated it.
Still not sure on the C either, might have wrote it down wrong. You can see in one of the photos the "fender tag" on the radiator support that I have listed. Wait better yet, I might have a clear shot of the fender tag before I stripped it, let me check
Thanks for the info though, always good to learn more or keep my fading memory updated.
I'll try and post some pics of my restored Fury, which sadly has been off the road about 4 years, since my divorce and a bunch of other life crap. It now needs some rework, which I want to do, but may end up selling it as I'm working on a '69 Barracuda fastback 340 Formula S.

Here's some as she was on the road as a daily driver. I have a lot showing it going through the restoration, but time to get ready for bed. I get up at 4AM (if not before).

Sweet ride, Dan! (Not that I'm at all biased:lol:)

What's wrong with the car?
Hey Thanks Ben,

Unfortunately a couple of minor problems popped up on it as I was going through some personal issues. So I parked "Corrina" (name I gave her since she is a "C" body. My '69 Barracuda is "Alana" since she is an "A" body) under my son's house car port since I no longer had a garage. It was minor things that I said I'd get to, but had to buy a house that needed a lot of work, so for about 3.5 years now, almost all of my time, energy and money have gone into the house.

As it usually happens, I've not fixed the original gemlins that I parked it for (minor stuff fuse for turn signals, radio, etc. kept blowing and I haven't found the short yet), but as time went by, the body shop did not prep or paint areas near where the vinyl top met the body in the corners of the back window, so now I have some rust there on just the driver's side, it hasn't rusted through, but it's bubbled. Naturally, now have to strip the vinyl top off and have that fixed and then another new top installed. They also apparently didn't prep the engine bay so the paint is popping off on top of the fenders/radiator support. I spent a long, long time pulling the engine and trans, detailing them, fixing/neatning the wiring, etc. Now it looks like crap. The dash has now cracked when before the only thing I replaced in the interior was the carpet and the Fury III dash emblem. The dash, headliner, seats, etc. still looked almost brand new. So now basically to get it redone to how she looked, I'll have to pull engine/trans and have under the hood repainted, fix around back window/new top and try to blend paint in. Pull the dash and since I'm doing that, I'll try to rewire everything in there including putting LED lights or some other method as even before the dash lights were pretty dim.

Rough estimate probably another 7K, which is depressing when I had it almost (driver quality) show ready after spending way too much money and time on it. I've thought about cleaning her up and selling her since she won't fit in my new garage and my Barracuda will and I really can't restore 2 cars at the same time. However, everytime I go over my son's house and fire her off, it's love all over again, lol.

Anyway, that's life.

Dan

Hi Dan,

Bummer about your Fury's deterioration. Watch out for perfectionism though. Our cars are 47 years old. Mine's got cracks in the dash pad and the heater blower motor stopped working recently. I don't typically name cars, but imperfect or no, there's no way I'd sell mine. I advise that you get it on the road and enjoy your Fury, regardless of paint deterioration under a vinyl top or in the engine compartment, or cracks in the dash pad. After all, our cars are fun drivers, not astronomically high-priced trailered show-queens. Who wants that anyway? If I get a rust bubble or a rock chip, I just say, "OK I'll take care of that with the next paint job." Then I keep driving.

On the turn signal short, someone trashed my dash when they couldn't figure out that brake light and turn signal problems were coming from the turn signal switch, which was overheating due to internal resistance. I wasn't blowing fuses, but I had no brake lights and turn signal on one side only. I can hear you on that issue.

My radio has never worked. One day, I'll get it redone. Somehow, in driving my 72 Fury to work occasionally, I don't need it. Call it man/machine bonding.

Hope you fix your 72 Fury's shorts and drive it as is. Maybe you can build a carport next to your garage and your Fury can be home with you. Cheers! Ben

As you can see, my engine compartment is far from perfect. It's all a work in progress.

Hey Ben,
Yeah, I did get carried away when I restored her, but with the miles when I got her (41K), having the fender tag and 2 complete build sheets and a partial other one and some old records from over the years, I tried to put it back real close to original with only a few changes.
I even sent my radio out to a place that converts them to all modern internals so they sound much better and instead of being 2 or 5 watts (can't remember which right off) total, it now puts out 20 watts for 4 channels (again if I remember right). I did have to modify the rear package shelf some since mine has the rear defroster and it uses 1 of the speaker holes. It's pretty discrete how I did it, but of course a true purist would notice it. There are a couple of other mods that I'll have to tell you about sometime.
I've already had 2 people wanting the radio, so I'm picking that up this afternoon, along with other parts. I might be able to take some more pics as well to post other parts.

Hey Ben,

I have a blower motor if you are interested.

Dan

Hey Ben,

Hi Dan. Tested my blower motor today. It's OK. I have a heat/no AC car. Hoping the problem is in the blower motor resistor or wiring from fan switch to resistor.

Cool Ben,
Glad to hear the motor is ok.
I got the number off the top of the radiator: 3574618, then 59538 underneath that.
Hope that helps,
Dan
