Minneapolis

Well no offense but your friend is a wimp. Just like the guy in Minnesota that won't go out when it's 0 out. We can debate the miserableness of the heat and the cold all day long but the bottom line is you chose where you live. If you want to be able to drive and work on your classic car all year long and not have to worry about it rusting away you move to AZ. If you want to bury your car in a garage, or a snowdrift for 6 months out of the year and forget what it looks like then live in a cold climate. I've lived in upstate NY and AZ. Guess where I'm staying?
well gotta go , I'm going outside to wash my New Yorker.:poke:
You don't alwa

You don't always get to choose where you live. My daughter, daughter-in-law and grand son are moving to Minneapolis, my wife and I are going with them. We will not live 15 hours away from our immediate family. As to Arizona, we lived in Waddell, Az for 3 years back in the late 80s. I don't care what anybody says, IT IS STINKING HOT!!! at least 6 months of the year. And there are no seasons. We plan to make the best of Minnesota regardless of the temperature.

I totally understand the being near the family thing. Our kids and grandchildren all live within 10 miles of us. If it was 150 here in the summer I'd put up with it to be near the family. Where in Waddell did you live?

Olive Ave, 16XXX something. A mile or so from the Post Office.

I was just looking at a current map, 167th Ave doesn't exist anymore.
You probably wouldn't recognize the area now.Ive lived here since 1990 and the growth has been ridiculous. There's a freeway running north south just east of Cotton Lane.

When I lived there, from Sun City to the west it was all farm land, roses, grapes and cotton fields. Our nearest neighbor was at least a 1/4 mile away.

Ah the good old days. I'm in Clearwater Farms on 2 acres so I have some space around me but the subdivisions are encroaching fast. Its losing the rural feeling for sure.

Are those the Del Webb type communities that are sprouting up all over down there, for the active 55+ crowd? (In Florida, that would be called "Del Boca Vista Phase 2").

You might have to install golf ball netting soon!
