I'm about to buy up a headliner for my 60 savoy from WLS headliners in Georgia. Has anyone bought from this place before, good....bad..ugly? Any others out their that you folks can recommend?

www.smsautofabrics.com is pretty good at finding the exact match for your fabric. They are sometimes a little slow with wait times of a couple of months to get the item. But they do a quality job of making headliners that are correct for the application. It usually works best to send them a sample of the material you want and all of the particulars for the car.

In that case, SMS has all of the fabric books from that era, request a sample of the material you want and see if it looks correct.

SMS does a nice headliner. I have one in my Barracuda. That's the place if you want the correct material. It will cost twice as much and take three times longer, but it will be right.
That said, most of the headliners sold by everyone else are made by Acme Headliners. The material will be more generic, but it will be cheaper and faster to get.

IF you get a sample from them that matches what you want/need, order it right then rather than waiting a year or so to do it. In another forum, a guy sent a sample of what he wanted, they said they had it. He waited to order it. What they sent did NOT match what they original sent. It was not really close, other than the color. They said it was correct, but it wasn't . . . after they had cut it from the bolt of fabric and sent it to him. Not sure how that came out.
So, if they match what you need, take a picture of it and return it back to them to match what they send you. Or just wait until you're ready and do it all at that time. Key thing is that if the sample they send, which matches, then what you get should come off of that same bolt of fabric. This ensures you get what you desire.

Are the Savoy headlinners different from the Fury and Belvedere which are perforated board?

I really myself cant answer that, I'm new to this forward look stuff. My savoy did have the cloth headliner...a piece of it left under the visor and what was left of the hoops in the trunk. Maybe someone else can help answer your question.

Maybe the fabric was a Canadian thing? Mine was built in Windsor.

Mine is a one owner car from Roanoke VA. Not sure where that fits in the puzzle but it is an American market car. Pretty sure.

Normally the 4-door sedans and lower priced cars got fabric. In Dodge, the 2dr and 4dr hardtop Lancers in each series got the cardboard, the others got the fabric. Savoy was a lower-price Plymouth, so it probably came with fabric from the factory. Nice car, however...
