after lots of searching found this 73 imperial

It is - it's old and mobile = an oldsmobile lol. In truth they're probably close to how an oldsmobile looked in the day.

To the uninitiated an Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Buick, Lincoln or Imperial probably look alike - big old luxury barges.

I've read parts of a dissertation where a guy was scientificly proving that you can lose weight while drinking beer.
The clou is to have it at a temperature sub 40 degrees I guess it was, so the body needs to put more energy into heating the liquid up to body temperature than he gets out of the beer..

Well...didn't think I'd ever get a chance to recycle my old pic of my bumper guards from Old Red and how I make use of them. They make me feel pretty.

So it looks to me like the 73s were a bit overkill with the bumper rubber to conform with the collision guidelines. Because it looks like the formals didn’t have too much rubber. Anyone have a theory?

You're probably right, overkill but they meant there was no need to redesign the front of the car so they were lucky that way.

I doubt they were worried our big cars. It was probably because they were starting to share more of the road with the tin can gas crunch alternatives that were starting to litter the streets & highways.

Except I need to place the left hand paddle lower and lateral on my chest.

Wow! I'm impressed. A lot of people don't know how to use a Defibrillator. You obviously do. At my last job - before I retired - I was the Safety Coordinator for the department where I worked. I received the training for using one of them but fortunately never had a need to put the training to use.

Couple summers ago on the road for work I saw a bronze/brown interior 72 imp. Totally original Cherry only missing a small piece of trim. Took a ton of pics on my old phone lost all my pics! What a car! Comparing that to my Newport is like comparing South Dakota class battleships to Iowa class ones. Same big guns but longer and a bit more majestic.

(...) the Carlisle Imperial below which I think is B9 (...)

Well, this specific '73 Imperial was at the Sully Plantation car show this Sunday. I took a few pictures (see one below), and talked at length to the owner. Seems like a great guy. He's had the car since the late '70s. This Imp was originally GB5, with RLB8 leather interior and V1W white vinyl top. The interior is original and in very good shape. The car was superbly repainted some time ago, and the top replaced. The repaint and roof redo, while not in the original color, are just superb. The owner shared a whole book of photos documenting the restoration, and to my eyes it was done very well.

I am usually a fan of B5 blue, but in this case he new color really befits the car. Enjoy the pic. And yes, it is Poppy, my 1970 Polara'vert, sitting next to that Cordoba.

PS: the owner still has the original wheels and covers, and he is in the process of getting new WW tires so that he can swap wheels and looks.

The 1973 Imperial was repainted; the original color was B5 blue with a white top. The color is actually a GM one -- Imperial Blue. We thought it was a good choice. :)
