I don't really talk much about my stepfathers collection of cars, however I want to talk about one that just got a new interior done because @FURYGT mentioned it a while ago. One of the cars in the collection is a 1967 Plymouth Fury II 6 passenger station wagon. It is an SS1 Soft yellow paint car, and currently a survivor with 90% original paint. Bought in 2003 from North Carolina, it was originally a Tennessee car. It has the standard 318 2 bbl motor, and used to have the bench front seat. It now has buckets and a center console, like a Sport Fury. My stepdad kinda wanted to make something that never existed, a Sport Fury station wagon. Of course using Fury III parts also. I figured I'd share some pics. A Sport Fury 3 spoke steering wheel, new back seat, a new modern stereo, and carpet were added. See pictures. Let me know what ya think.

More To Come

I'm following this with interest - looks good. While they say it was never done, there may have been one or two factory wagons with consoles in 67. I know there were a few 4 doors with consoles, so it may have been possible.

Definitely some console equipped wagons in 65 (seen them), and possibly 66.

I want to make a buckets and console interior for my 66 T&C wagon, but retain the column shift. That way I can easily swap it back to bench if I wish/need to. To that end I have the seats, console, and other assorted bits.

I am going to use a 4 spd console top with the very rare shifter delete plate that was offered - I've collected two over the years. Believe it or not, one could order a console with column shift. You got a 4 spd top with a special ribbed plate that filled the shifter opening.

Back in the day you could walk into any auto manufactures dealer and special order a unique car. If you had the money, they would build it. I have seen many rare cars because of this. Great job.

Thank you for the nice comments guys. Here are some more pictures I have not yet posted.

FINALLY, The New Copper Interior....

A new dash pad was added, old one was cracked. "Lower" Fury III dash trim was put on instead of it being bare with nothing.

Love the ashtray on the seat back! A good bump and your stabbing the driver in the back with a lit smoke!

Of course, without a good bump it would still have been fun to miss the ashtray on some of the people i hung out with back then.

Looks great. want to do the carpet in the cargo area of my 68 the same way. I have almost a complete set of the rub strips from a Chrysler T & C wagon once I get the rest I'll start on it.

Beautiful interior. I'm guessing the front buckets can be foamed and recovered with any B body cover, but what did you use for the middle and rear seats? I have a catalog from Legendary on the way but am struggling to source wagon specific seat covers and carpeting. I'm in the middle of the same conversion on a 68 T&C.

I’m on my third mopar resto. Buy fabric from SMS. Take to interior guy. He builds foam blocks as needed. Really helps to have the old seat covers if you are putting the same seats back in.

SMS, I'll have a look. And covers was mainly what I meant. Lots of options but I'm never sure what fits what since usually the market is slanted toward B Bodies/A Bodies.
