1975 Plymouth Duster .REDUCED $3500 This is a badass car for a good price. The photos say the most -she runs strong transmission leak in fluid over time. Needs lots of TLC, clean title in hand . TRANSMISSION IS OUT MUST BE TOWED. Owned 5 years no time or money to restore myself. Miles on odometer are unknown the dial does not work. Lights and electrical work. 8 cylinder engine it is strong. The engine is from an earlier 70s mopar . I do not know if this is a 340 or 318 so please dont ask. Oil just changed

Not a deal there. Needs a TON of work and that's just what the pictures show. Maybe a $12-1500 Duster. Owner should part it out and sell me the console and all the parts to convert mine from column to floor shifter.

Hey you could ask. All he can do is say no.

The finished Dusters I see are pretty pricey.

Magnum heads on that small block, so someone cared about it at one point. Take about a hour or so to rebuild trans, plus pull and reinstall. Intake is a $$$ piece, for some reason they just refuse to come down in price. 74 up are worst with the 5 mph bumpers and not a simple swap to put 73 bumpers on them. So you are stuck fabricating brackets to put fiberglass bumpers on, or live with 100# anchors on both ends of your car.
My standard reply of "all A bodies are destined to be racecars" applies

So is there a way to tell between 318&340 engines?

interior is crap but that isn’t so bad to fix. Not sure what he means about electrical problems. Bulkhead connector still used in 75?

Externally the LA small blocks look the same (273-360) aside from the2 or 4 bbl intake and some exhaust manifolds. Thus one has the later Magnum heads on it. With the condition of the interior, underhood area, rust on the lowers and the trans being out of it, I can't help but wonder what else is hiding and how abused this has been. "A" body Dusters etc are crazy priced, especially the 340 4spd versions. I hold to my initial $12-1500.

It is either a 5.2 Magnum (318) , or a LA with Magnum heads swapped on. Either way Magnum heads are excellent, except for the pedestal rocker arms and the less than .500" valve lift ceilings.
If it is a 5.9 or 360 that's a bonus, just beware of the external balance. Make sure it is there on the TC, long term operation without the weights will eat the main bearings. Pretty sure all 318s are internal balance.
The $1000-1500 is about right. 3500 is way high for a car with that many problems.
